Branded
as a platform for performances, rehearsals
and auditions, ‘All Strings Night’
is a newly established concept aimed
to bring the stringed family together
for a session of casual musical interaction
and performance. Our first ‘All
Strings Night’ Concert was held
on 15th March 2006 (Wednesday) at the
Civic Centre Library Auditorium. Popular
stringed instruments such as the guitar
and violin were the focus for the night.
This exclusive concert, featuring both
solo and group performances, gave our
budding guitarists and violinists a
fantastic opportunity to be cast into
the limelight as the melodious strings
took centre-stage for the first time.
The number of students taking up
stringed instruments is steadily on
the rise. To adapt to such a trend
and demand, our school aims to place
additional emphasis to groom and nurture
our young stringed musicians, by show-casing
them in performances such as the ‘All
Strings Night’, and offering
more customized lessons according
to their needs and abilities. Furthermore,
more violinists and guitarists have
also been selected to perform in various
mini concerts, with the intention
of exposing them to public performing
styles as well as to prepare them
for upcoming grand concerts and music
competitions.
