Graded Electric Bass Guitar Course

The course starts with a review of reading music, using major scales, triads and 7th chords to create cool-sounding bass lines for the most important chord progressions. Learn the basics of blues and funk styles. For Grade 3 onwards, this course will take you further into using scales to build bass lines. You will be introduced to ideas such as modes tetrachords, passing notes and varying rhythmic activity, techniques such as slap & pop, string muting and creating walking bass lines. For advanced learners, the course makes advanced concepts like rhythm changes, tritone substitution, odd time signatures and a study of Latin grooves, raggae, ska and advanced bass lines. Also covered are topics such as improvisation (soloing) and practice techniques.
